Learn how to publish content to your Threads account in Meltwater Engage.

Prerequisites

Before creating a Threads post, you first need to connect your Threads account in your account settings. Learn more about Connecting your Owned Social Accounts.


Creating a Threads Post

To create an Threads post in Engage, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Engage drop-down in the left-hand navigation bar

  2. Select Publish

  3. Click Create in the top right-hand corner

  4. Click Post

  5. Select the check box to the left of the Threads account(s) you want to publish to

  6. Compose your post

    1. Write and edit the text within the post. Threads can support a maximum character count of 500. When including @mentions to other Threads profiles note that you will need to enter the handle as there isn't a drop-down list of profiles.

    2. Drag & drop media assets:

      1. Image attachments: Threads can support up to 10 images, with an image maximum file size of 8MB. Photos must be within a 0.01:1 and 10:1 aspect ratio range.

      2. Video attachments: Threads can support up to 10 videos, with a maximum file size of 1GB and play length of 300 seconds.

      3. Mixed Media: Threads can support 10 media assets (i.e. images, video, or combination)

    3. Animated GIFs

    4. Emojis

    5. Links

  7. To add First Threads Comment

    1. Click from the General Tab to the Threads Composer Tab

    2. Scroll down to First Threads Comment

    3. Add your comment

      Note: Comments are limited to 1000 characters. This is a great place to add hashtags so they do not clutter your original post.

  8. Once you've formatted all the details of your post, navigate to Post time and select when you would like your post to be published.

    1. Now

    2. Schedule date and time

    3. Save as draft

  9. Select an Approval process (optional). Learn more about Assigning Your Social Posts for Approval.
