Q: Who are these courses for?
A: The courses were created for marketing, PR & communications professionals and students, but are available to anyone with an interest. Meltwater customers automatically have access to courses through the Meltwater app home page. For non-customers who are interested, courses can be accessed through a separate site: academy.meltwater.com.
Q: Is there a cost for the courses?
A: No, all courses are offered free to anyone interested
Q: Why should I join Meltwater Academy?
A: By taking academy courses you'll be able to expand your skills, advance your career, and be recognized for your knowledge with our marketing, PR & communications industry and product courses. You'll be able to access training on Meltwater products at your own pace with on-demand training. These courses will help ensure you are getting the most out of your Meltwater subscription. Once you’ve completed a course you’ll be part of our growing community where you can share ideas and questions. Upon completion of each course exam, you’ll receive a certificate of achievement which you can add to your social media profiles and resume, certifying your knowledge.
Q: When I click to enroll in a course, why is it asking me to create an account?
A: This shouldn’t happen. If it does, you’ll need to access Meltwater Academy through the product page. Do this by:
Find the “Guides and resource” section and
Click on Meltwater Academy. Meltwater Academy should now recognize who you are and you will not need to set up a new account.
Q: Why are there only certifications for the Meltwater Engage product? When will more certifications be added?
We are launching Meltwater Academy with courses for our Meltwater Engage product offering. Education classes and resources are focused on social media management. We are currently developing courses on the marketing, PR & communications industry and Meltwater products. New courses will be added each month. Sign up on one of our “Coming Soon” pages to be notified when new courses are launched.
Q: How much time do I need to complete “Meltwater Engage: Foundations Course and Certification”?
A: The course takes around 40 minutes to complete. The certification also takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
Q: How do I prepare for certification exams?
The best way to prepare for an exam is to watch all of the training videos. All answers are provided there or within an additional resource provided.
Q. Does my certification expire?
A: The certification does not expire. When there is a major release, new training will be offered to top up your knowledge, but the certification will not expire.
Q: How can I practice what you are showing in the course?
A: At the end of each lesson, you are encouraged to practice what was covered to ensure you grasp the activity and to help you retain the new knowledge.
Q. What happens if I fail my exam?
A: You are able to retake the exam. Please rewatch the videos as all answers covered in the lessons.
Q: I am having technical issues, who should I reach out to?
If you are having trouble viewing the lessons, clear your cache and/or restart your browser. If that doesn’t work try another browser. If you are still having issues you can reach out to email@example.com.
Q: How do I pass the exam and what type of certification will I receive?
A: A Certificate of Achievement will be given to learners who score 80% or higher on the exam.
Q: How do I receive my certificate?
A: An email will be sent from Meltwater Academy <firstname.lastname@example.org>, with a link to your digital certificate and badge. If you did not receive your certificate via email please check your spam folder.
Q: How can I post my certificate on my LinkedIn profile?
A: You will need to create a password when the digital certificate is sent to you. You should see a notification across the top of your screen to “set password”. If not:
Click on “Sign In”
Click “Forgot Password”
Enter your email address and an email will be sent
Click on “View Credentials”
You will see a blue box that says “Post to LinkedIn Profile”
Q: Will my progress be saved?
A: Yes! You can stop and start a lesson and your progress will be saved automatically.
Q: Am I able to enroll my team in these courses?
A: Not at this time. Team members will need to enroll individually, however, you are able to share the link to a course and have them enroll. If you have a large team, email us at Academy@meltwater.com for more information.
Q: Can I make recommendations for new courses?
Yes! Please email us at Academy@meltwater.com and let us know what you are interested in. We are currently working on our course roadmap but would love to incorporate your suggestions where possible.
Q: Can I change the name on my certification?
A: Yes! Log in to certification.meltwater.com. Find your certificate and click on the “More” drop-down menu. Select “Request a name change”. Enter the new details and submit a request.
Q: Can non-customers access Meltwater Academy?
A: Yes, we have a separate site that is open to the general public (https://academy.meltwater.com/). Users will need to register to enroll in courses (vs. the customer site https://education.meltwater.com/ , where the user’s login has been automated from the integration with our product so you don’t have to register).
