From time to time, you may want to remove content that is pulling into your searches because it is irrelevant or skewing reporting.

This article will cover:

Using the Hide Function

Within Explore and Monitor, the Hide icon removes the article(s) selected from your results across the whole platform.

Hiding Articles

  1. Load the content stream in Explore or Monitor by selecting Explore or Monitor in the left-hand navigation bar

  2. Select the checkboxes to the left of the article(s) you want to remove

  3. Select the Hide icon.

Unhiding Articles

After you have hidden articles in a content stream, you can unhide them:

  1. Select the kebab menu at the top of the content stream

  2. Select Hidden Articles

  3. The articles you have chosen to hide will now be the only articles showing in the content stream

  4. Select the checkboxes to the left of the hidden article(s) you want to show in your content stream

  5. Select Show

  6. The content stream will then reload to include the articles you have made visible again

Note: this will exclude the content from all other search folders, exported spreadsheets, dashboards, and reports.

Updating Keywords

If you would like to remove or make sure you do not see specific content, you can adjust your search query in Explore to make sure certain keywords are not included in your results by adding to the not clause.

If you built your search query in Explore using a Keyword Search, you can add words to the None of these box. If an article or post includes a word added in this box, the article or post will now be removed.

If you built your search query in Explore using an Advanced Search, also known as Boolean, you can add to the NOT clause in your Boolean. To learn more about Boolean and how to create a not clause, learn more about Getting Started with Boolean.

Update Filter Options

Are you seeing social posts when you only want to see news media in your content stream? Or maybe you only want to see content in a particular language? You need to update your filter options.

To update filters:

  1. Click Explore in the left-hand navigation bar

  2. Open a search you want to update filters in

  3. Click into the desired filter within the filter bar

  4. Select or unselect the tick boxes within the desired filters

  5. Select Search to update the results.
