Meltwater’s Media Intelligence Single Sign-On (SSO) enables you to securely connect your identity provider to Meltwater, simplifying access and authentication.
This article will cover:
Note: Single Sign-On (SSO) is available based on your Meltwater subscription. If you're unsure whether SSO is included in your plan, please reach out to your Meltwater Account Manager for more details.
Prerequisites
To set up Single Sign-On (SSO) successfully, you’ll need:
Ownership of an Email Domain – You must have exclusive ownership of at least one email domain, as users are identified by their email addresses. Generic domains (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo) are not supported.
A Compatible Identity Provider – Your identity provider must support SAML 2.0 for authentication.
Setting Up Single Sign-On (SSO)
To set up Single Sign-On in your Meltwater account, follow these steps:
Contact your Meltwater Support representative and request to add SSO to your existing contract and provide them with the following:
Identity Provider Metadata File – This must include the x.509 certificate.
SSO Technical Support Contact – The person Meltwater should coordinate with for setup.
Email Domains for SSO – List the domains where SSO should be applied.
Optional: Identify if the SAML request should be signed. (Yes/No)
Meltwater’s technical support team will provide instructions for verifying ownership of the requested email domains. This process requires adding special DNS TXT records to the respective domains.
Once domain ownership is verified, Meltwater will send a generated Service Provider metadata SAML file to your designated SSO support contact (this contact was identified in Step 1).
Your SSO support contact will use the provided SAML file to configure the integration. After setup, testing will begin to ensure a smooth implementation.
Once testing is complete, SSO will be enabled for your account. Any necessary migration steps will also be applied.
