Adding Newsdesks to Media Lists
We've made managing relationships with newsdesks and other sources easier without mixing them up with journalists. These enhancements are designed to save time, improve accuracy, and make your media outreach more effective.
Streamlined Source Management: Build targeted publication lists by efficiently saving and organizing your news sources.
Improved Attribution: Attribute content directly to newsdesks and other sources, keeping them distinct from journalists and media contacts.
Enhanced Research and Outreach: Simplify your workflow by searching for and adding newsdesk emails directly to media lists.
Faster Relationship Building: Easily organize and track sources of interest, helping you foster publication-level connections more quickly.
To add a Newsdesk to a Media List, follow these steps:
From a Source Search
Click the Media Relations drop-down in the left-hand navigation bar
Select Outreach
Navigate to the I’m looking for Contacts drop-down at the top of your screen.
Select Sources
Add your search in the search bar
Press Enter
Select the checkbox to the left of the source
Click Add to list
From a Source Profile
Click the Media Relations drop-down in the left-hand navigation bar
Select Outreach
Navigate to the I’m looking for Contacts drop-down at the top of your screen.
Select Sources
Add your search in the search bar
Press Enter
Click on a Source Name
Click Actions
Select Add to Media Lists or scroll to the Media Lists section to add it directly
Managing Newsdesks
Click the Media Relations drop-down in the left-hand navigation bar
Select Media List
Open a Media List
Select Newsdesks to see added sources
To add a source to another media list, hover over the media list and select the + icon
To view all sources in a media list, select Media Lists in the Media Relations drop-down in the left-hand navigation bar.
Select All Newsdesks
The following data columns are available:
Name
Media Lists
Location
Email
Last contacted
Phone number
Unique visitors
Circulation
Pitching to Newsdesks
Sending Emails to Individual Newsdesks
Note: To send an email to a source, you must have your email integrated. Please see Prerequisites for additional information. We recommend pitching source newsdesks using email integration and not Outreach.
To pitch to an individual Newsdesk, follow these steps:
Click the Media Relations drop-down in the left-hand navigation bar
Select Media List
Click the All Newsdesks tab or open the Newsdesks tab within a media list.
Hover over a source
Select the email icon to open Outreach in a new tab, where you can compose your email.
From a Source profile, click Actions.
Or select the Interactions tab
Select Send email
The Compose Email box will open with the newsdesk email pre-filled, allowing you to craft and send your outreach.
Sending Outreach to Media Lists with Newsdesks
Click the Media Relations drop-down in the left-hand navigation bar
Select Outreach
Click Create Outreach
Select your media list as the recipient
Note: The outreach will be sent to all contacts and newsdesks in your list with email addresses.
