Understanding the Word Cloud

The word cloud displays the most used words among the posts, including hashtags, mentions, and named entities. It is a stylized way of visually representing occurrences of words used to describe tags. The more recurrent the keyword is, the larger it will be.


Word Cloud Definitions

  • Keywords: attributes generated automatically (triggers) & manually (tagging manually)

  • Hashtags: hashtags X (formerly Twitter) / Facebook / Instagram preceded by "#"

  • Named Entities: Entities auto-generated by an algorithm.

  • Mentions: Mentions X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, preceded by "@"


Frequent, Distinctive, and Emerging Word Clouds

  • Most Frequent: keywords that appear most frequently in your result

  • Distinctive: the most unusual or interesting keywords in the data set

  • Emerging: the most specific keywords of the period for trend identification
