Successful collaborations with influencers often include payments based on posts created or commissions determined by the sales the influencer generates over the course of a campaign.

Klear Pay enables you to easily initiate payments to influencers and affiliates directly within Klear. Klear Pay allows your influencer managers to initiate payments while your accounting team simply provides approvals, eliminating a common bottleneck when paying influencers. Influencer payment information is captured upfront during the campaign brief, so paying influencers is quick and seamless by the time your campaign comes to a close.

This article will cover:

Prerequisites

Before proceeding, please ensure that Klear Pay is included in your contract and that you have completed the onboarding process with Tipalti managed by your Customer Success team. Instructions for funding your Klear Pay Account can be found within the Tipalti AP Hub which your approved user will have received access to during the onboarding process. Make sure there is a balance in the account prior to following the remainder of this guide.

Additionally, please ensure that you have collected the influencer payment details by enabling that option within the campaign brief. Once your influencers have joined the campaign, provided their payment details, and you have funded your Klear Pay account, you will be able to pay your influencers through Klear Pay.

Affiliate Fees

If you are tracking influencer sales through Klear using our eCommerce integrations, you will be able to select either a fixed amount per conversion or percentage of sale commission for influencers.

Setting Affiliate Fees

  1. From your Campaign in Klear, navigate to the Measure tab

  2. From the Measure tab, navigate to the Affiliates tab

  3. Find the influencer you want to assign an affiliate fee to. Navigate to the right of their name under the Affiliate Fee column and a + sign will appear. Click on it.

  4. In the small window that opens, you will be able to choose from the following options

    1. Percentage of sales. After selecting this option, you can enter a percentage in the box below to determine the percentage to be paid to the influencer based on their generated sales.

Example: If you have entered 10% and the influencer generated $328 dollars in sales, the total amount that will show as owed is $32.80 (until that amount is paid).

    2. Fixed amount per conversion. Entering a value in the box below will then determine payout fee for each conversion that influencer should receive.

Example: If you have a fixed amount of $2 per conversion and the influencer generates three conversions, the total amount that will show as owed is $6 (until that amount is paid).

  5. Once you have chosen the type of commission fee and entered a value amount, click out of the small window and you have set the affiliate fee for that influencer

As long as there is at least one sale, you will be able to see the amount owed to the influencer and a Pay Now button will appear in blue on the right. Click this to pay the influencer the owed amount.

  5. Once the payment is completed, it will reflect under the Paid column. Any new sales will generate new owed commission and you will be able to pay the balance at any time.
