Use the Research Content feature to create queries to find content matching your keywords within the Scoop.it index.

We can search for keywords within the text, the title or search for a specific domain.

The content could be articles, blog posts, videos etc.

Scoop.it index

The Scoop.it index is composed of millions of sources of online articles in any language. That includes news sites, blogs and any sites that publish online news on a regular basis. The index is constantly updated with new sources through user searches and sources added to the source monitoring.

Boolean editor

  1. Select where the keyword should be found or if you wish to filter by domain. The options are: The title, the title or the content and the domain (to focus on a specific source of content using the domain, or to exclude a specific source).

  2. Select how the keyword or domain should be searched for.

    1. The options are:

      1. Contains all of the words: the keywords will be searched for based on the root of the word. This gives broader results.

      2. Doesn’t contain any of the words: the keywords will be excluded based on the root of the word. This gives broader results.

      3. Contains exactly the phrase: the keywords will be searched for exactly as they have been entered. This gives more precise results.

      4. Doesn’t contain exactly the phrase: the keywords will be excluded exactly as they have been entered. This gives more precise results.

  3. Keyword field: Enter the keywords of your choice

  4. OR: Click on Or to add a new keyword to that line.

  5. AND: Click on And to add a new line of keywords to cross-search.

  6. Trash icon: Delete a line of keywords.

  7. Time period: Define the time frame for your search.

  8. Language: Select the language for your search.

  9. Order: Choose how the content is sorted. You can sort by freshness, relevance or popularity.

Advanced query editor

You can switch to the advanced query editor if you need more advanced search options:

Here you will be able to type your search query and use more advanced filters.

Available filters are: Title, language, domain, path, RSS, Twitter and webpage:

Create alerts

You can set up alerts if you would like to be notified by email if new content matches your query. To do so click on Set an email alert:

You can then define the frequency of the alerts:
