As you know, Instagram deprecated its legacy hashtag search API in favor of the Facebook Graph API, more respectful of data privacy.
This article will cover:
@ Mention Search
This feature allows you to identify captions, comments, and media in which your business account alias has been tagged or @mentioned.
Since Jan. 25th, you can display in Radarly Instagram mentions of post captions, comments and media!
Getting Access to @ Mentions
1. Plug your Instagram business account in the project settings. Just plugged in the project settings is ok, it doesn’t need to be attached to a workspace.
2. As soon as your business accounts are plugged in your project and a search query is searching for the @username (attention, it is case sensitive) of your business account, we will collect all posts that mentioned your business account (posts not anonymized and coming from business and non-business profiles).
3. To display all the mentions of your business account in your project, use the operator of the mentions: @user_name in the filter bar. Please note that it is the same operator that this is also working for Twitter or Sina Weibo for instance.
# Hashtag Search
The new hashtags search feature was released in Radarly on 4th of February. Data collecting was activated at that date and grew gradually to full power on Feb. 8th.
Reminder of the Facebook API guidelines:
- Hashtag collection per Instagram business account plugged in the project
- Allows you to collect 30 hashtags per business account
- Once you query a hashtag, it can't be updated for 7 days
- API returns anonymized posts from business and non-business accounts
- Hashtags on Instagram Stories are not supported
Using the Hashtag Search
1. Plug your Instagram business account in the project settings. Just plugged in the project settings is ok, it doesn’t need to be attached to a workspace.
2. Identify relevant hashtag (30 hashtags per business account plugged in Radarly).
3. Add them in the new Insta hashtag search section in the project settings. Bear in mind that among the 30 hashtags you have hashtags registered in several Radarly projects + in other apps.
Note:
Origin of the data collected is:
Hashtags searched through Radarly
Hashtags searched by other applications (if you're searching hashtags with other products e.g. Hootsuite, Spreadfast and so on).
