Overview of Custom Scoring

Quantify the impact of earned media using metrics that are tailored to your business

Assign value to key topics and article placement that drive your message. Now, you and your team can have a shared understanding of what’s being said about your brand, optimize future initiatives, and effectively prove the ROI of your efforts to key stakeholders.

With Custom Scoring you can easily apply weight to the areas of content important to you, like CEO mentions, business growth or competitor spokespeople to gain a better understanding of your business coverage and showcase the results in a presentation-ready report.

Set up your Scoring

You can choose metrics relevant to your PR efforts to contribute to your score and once you set up your model you can apply it to any of your saved editorial searches within a custom time range and generate a report with one click.

You can view your reports on the Custom Scoring page and also download it as a csv file.

  • Select Reports from the lefthand side navigation bar, Select Custom Score Reports

  • Select New Model to get started

  • Select the metrics on the left which align with your goals. Use the toggle to switch 'on' the metrics of importance.

  • Once you select to toggle 'on', configure options for each metric will load. Enter the details of importance into the fields and select Ok

  • Select Ok

  • Under Preview, select one of your current searches as an input. This will demonstrate how your score performs on articles while you can continue adjusting the metrics on the same page.

  • Once all updated have been made to the score values, select Next

  • Name your score model

Hint: If you don’t want to generate a report you can skip that with just saving the score. Select 'Save Score Model' in the bottom right corner

  • Select your report settings

  • Select Create Report to finish

This is how your report looks once it has been generated (it could take a few seconds or minutes depending on date range and number of articles):

You can download this report in the form of an editable CSV file.

Your saved Custom Score (currently we only allow the creation of ONE score model) and your reports (this is unlimited) will be available in the Custom Scoring page:

Export a Coverage Report with your Scoring

Once you've created a Custom Score Report it will be avaible for selection beneither your Custom Score Models.

  • Via the tick box, Select the report

  • The 'View Selected Report' icon will the report page to view the scores and articles

  • The Export icon will download an excel file for the report. The final columns within this report include the scores assigned to each article.
