What is Explore+ and how is it different from Explore?

Explore+ is Meltwater’s enterprise social and media intelligence platform — designed for research teams, strategic marketers, and communications pros who need both fast and deep insights at a global scale. Explore is great for real-time monitoring, alerts, and fast answers. Explore+ builds on that speed, adding structure and depth through advanced segmentation, richer historical data, enhanced dashboards, and enterprise-grade governance for large or growing teams.

What are standard vs. Optimized Searches?

Standard Searches run on Meltwater’s central database. They’re fast, flexible, and unlimited. You can create them in the Explore section of your Meltwater experience.

Optimized Searches are created and managed exclusively in the Explore+ section, offering a minimum of two years of historical data. They power your Explore+ private index, which continually grows over time, building on top of that initial two-year history. Optimized Searches also enable advanced segmentation through Custom Fields and support richer data enrichments.

Can I use both search types in Explore+?

Yes. Standard and Optimized Searches can be used side-by-side across the Insight Pages and and Analytics in Explore+. They cannot be mixed in a single widget but can appear together across widgets. Custom enrichments like Custom Fields only apply to saved Optimized Searches.

What are Insight Pages?

Insight Pages support both templates and manual customization. Users can add up to 10 tabs, create folders, and apply filters like sentiment, source, author, and more. Additional layout flexibility is being developed.

How are Insight Pages different from the Analytics view?

Analytics is a static KPI comparison view. Many Explore+ users start by exploring data in the Analytics view, and then design Insight Pages with the KPIs, adding insights and context. Insight Pages are customizable, dynamic dashboards designed for storytelling and stakeholder reporting.

How customizable are Insight Pages in Explore+?

Templates and customization are available today, with improvements like folders and tabs. More flexibility is coming in the future

What is the best way to remove a mention from an Insight Page?

To remove a specific mention from an Insight Page, you can use the "Hide" function.

Is there a cap on queries per folder in Explore+?

Yes, 60 per folder.

How much historical data will be available?

Explore+ provides access to 24 months of historical data when creating Optimized Searches. Explore+ accounts come with data storage for Optimized Searches, with storage limits applied per license.

Optimized Searches power your Explore+ private index, which continually grows over time, building on top of that initial two-year history. Optimized Searches also enable advanced segmentation through Custom Fields and support richer data enrichments.

Will Explore+ and Explore be used together or separately?

Explore+ users have access to and use both together. They are designed to complement each other — especially as shared features continue to unify over time.

Will searches sync across Explore and Explore+?

Not currently.

Will Explore+ allow measuring entity sentiment?

Yes — sentiment can be measured at the entity level within Insight Pages.

Will Explore+ support image recognition on Instagram like in Radarly?

Yes, if Instagram credentials are connected.

What are custom fields in Explore+?

Custom Categories are saved Boolean queries that act as tags to narrow down your search results in Explore. They're designed to be reusable filters that you can apply to your searches for deeper analysis and comparison.
