Understand your capabilities as a View-Only User in Explore+.

Welcome to Explore+. As an Explore+ Viewer, you are stepping into Meltwater’s enterprise platform for media and social intelligence. The good news is that everything is already set up for you - no configuration needed.

Your company’s searches, dashboards, and custom filters are ready to go. This means you can start exploring insights, applying filters, and sharing reports without changing or breaking anything.

This article will cover:


Exploring Data in Explore+ Analytics Tab

The Analytics Tab is where you view and explore the data collected through your company’s media and social searches. Here, you can:

  • Compare different topics, brands, or markets

  • Filter results to get more specific insights

  • View data through easy-to-read charts and graphs

  • Dive into actual media content and mentions

Accessing the Analytics Tab

To access the Analytics Tab, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Explore+ drop-down in the left-hand navigation bar

  2. Select Analytics

Getting Familiar with the Analytics Page

Here’s a quick overview of the tools available in the Analytics tab:

A. Search Selection

Add up to 60 searches at once to compare different topics or brands

B. Add Filter

Apply standard filters (like language or source) or custom fields created by your team

C. Clear All Filters

Quickly remove all active filters to reset your view

D. Date Range

Choose a time period - preset (last 7 days, last month) or custom

E. Analysis Options

Switch between charts showing mentions, images/videos, sources, sentiment, geography, and more

F. Content Stream

View the actual articles, posts, or mentions behind the data

Using the Analytics Page

Now that you are familiar with the Analytics Page, let’s load data into it using searches.

To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Select the drop-down in the top left-hand corner

  2. Check the boxes next to your team folder(s) you want to use

    Note: You can compare results from up to 60 Searches at once, giving you powerful side-by-side insights—for example, to compare brands, markets, or competitors.

  3. Click Apply

  4. To apply filters

    1. Select Add filter

    2. Select from Standard filters (like langauge or region) or Custom filters (built by your admin like product lines or customer segments)

    3. Click OK. Your results will automatically repopulate.

  5. To remove or edit a selected filter, select the filter drop-down

  6. To adjust the date range, click the Date Range drop-down

  7. To view the content stream, select Show content


Using the Insight Pages

Insight Pages are pre-built dashboards created by your team to track specific topics or performance metrics. These are great for:

  • Monitoring campaigns

  • Reporting on brand or product performance

  • Sharing insights with stakeholders

Note: As a Viewer, you can only view and share existing Insight Pages. You won’t be able to create or edit them.

Accessing Insight Pages

  1. Click the Explore+ drop-down in the left-hand navigation bar

  2. Select Insight Pages.

  3. All dashboards created by your team will automatically load

Interacting with Insight Pages

  1. Click into the Insight Page you want to view

  2. To apply filters, select Add filter

  3. Select from Standard filters or Custom filters (just like the Analytics tab)

  4. Once a filter has been selected, click the checkboxes to the left of those filters or enter any required fields

  5. Click OK. Your results will automatically repopulate.

  6. Click into any graph

    1. To go deeper, click on any mention, spike, or sentiment.

    2. An AI-powered overview will also show for faster understanding.

Sharing an Insight Page

  1. Click Share in the top right-hand corner

  2. Choose how to share:

    1. Shareable Link: Create a password-protected URL for external sharing

    2. PDF Export - Download the current tab as a PDF

Note: If PDF is selected, the PDF will only include the current tab you are on when selecting Share, not all.
