We’ve added a built-in Google UTM builder to the Publish flow. This new feature lets you add UTM parameters to your links directly within Engage—making campaign tracking setup faster and more consistent.

This article will cover:

Adding a Single URL

To add a single URL directly in Publish, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Engage drop-down in the left-hand navigation bar

  2. Select Publish

  3. Click the Create drop-down in the top right-hand corner

  4. Select Post

  5. Add your account(s)

  6. Select UTM tracking

Note: The most recently added URL will automatically appear in the link preview (you can remove the preview if needed).

  7. A pop-up will appear where you can define tracking parameters for each link

  8. By default, the following standard UTM parameters are toggled on. Toggle any of these off if you don’t want to include them

    1. Campaign

    2. Source

    3. Medium

    4. Content

    5. Term

  9. To set values for each parameter, enter a custom value manually or select a predefined value from the Type drop-down. Available predefined values include:

    1. Tags – reflects the tags you’ve applied to the post. If multiple tags are added to a post, values will be separated by dashes (e.g., taga-tagb)

    2. Date – reflects the scheduled date of the post

    3. Social channel – reflects the platform. If multiple channels are added to a post, values will be unique per channel (e.g,. Facebook)

    4. Social account – reflects the selected account. If multiple accounts are added to a post, values will be separated by dashes (e.g. pagea-pageb)

    5. First 25 characters – pulls from the first 25 characters of your post copy

Note: If you leave a custom value blank, it will not be included. Edits to any of the above fields after UTM creation will be automatically updated as long as the post has not yet been published.

  10. To add custom parameters, click Add new parameter

Note: Adding custom parameters is optional.

  11. In the Name field, enter the parameter name using UTM logic (e.g., utm_promo), and then provide a value (e.g., green_love).

  12. If you need to copy your UTM link, click the copy button to copy it to your device’s clipboard.

  13. Once you're done, click Apply.

Note: If you’re using a link preview, the UTM parameters won’t be visible in the caption due to length, but you can confirm they’ve been applied by hovering over the link preview., If you're not using a link preview, the parameters will not be visible in your post, however, they will be there. Open the UTM Tracking pop-up to review your applied parameters.

Working with Multiple URLs

You can apply different UTM parameters to each URL in your post. Follow these steps to do so:

  1. Click the Engage drop-down in the left-hand navigation bar

  2. Select Publish

  3. Click the Create drop-down in the top right-hand corner

  4. Select Post

  5. Add your account(s)

  6. Select UTM tracking

  7. Click the UTM drop-down to select a specific URL, and define parameters for each

  8. To apply the same UTM parameters to all URLs in the post, select Apply tracking to all links on post
