Conversations

With the Engage mobile app you can easily interact with and respond to content seen on the web version of the Conversations tab. Conversations that are actioned on in the mobile app, such as comments or replies, will be reflected in the web app and vice versa allowing you to respond for anywhere without worrying about having your laptop nearby.

From the top bar you can filter by social handles, message type, and message status to see the conversations that are most important to you. These streamlined views help you act on the most pressing conversations first.

The same API limitations that apply to the web app, such as not being able to “like” Instagram replies, apply to the mobile app. Unfortunately, these are limitations in place by the social channels and we must follow their rules.

Mark as Complete

After responding to a conversation, it will automatically be marked as complete on both the mobile and web app. Messages that do not require action can be marked as complete by selecting the checkbox next to the conversation. If a message has been marked as complete on the web app, the status will be reflected on the mobile app.

Publish

Publish tab consists of a content calendar feed view, providing a glance into scheduled and published content. Users can edit message details including schedule time, text, assignments, and tags.

Publish consists of a filter bar at the top, a weekly calendar view, and a post feed view.

Filters include:

  • Today - jump to today

  • Month - swipe/tap on the days in the calendar bar

  • Social accounts - connected social accounts

  • Content types - All, Assigned, Assigned to me, Approved, Unassigned, Rejected

  • Status - Draft, Scheduled, Published

  • Tags

View message details

  • Tap on any scheduled post to view the message details

  • The banner at the top will depict the message status (scheduled vs published)

  • All of the media per channel will be displayed. Click on the media to view it in a carousel/fullscreen

Edit message details

  • If the user has access to all social accounts in the message they can edit the details. If they do not have access to one or more social accounts, they can view, but not edit). Instead, they will see a view-only banner at the top of the message details. This is the same behavior for web.

    • The users that can edit will see the buttons to add or edit (pencil) in the details section

  • Users can edit the time or change the post to a draft

  • Assign or re-assign content with an optional note

  • Add/edit tags on your posts

  • You have the option to edit the text for all posts at once, or for each individual post per channel. Make any text edits and click Apply.

Publish content on the go

In the Engage mobile app, via the third tab across the bottom labeled Publish, users will find a ‘Create’ button in the bottom right-hand corner (available for iOS and Android).

Click Create to start drafting a new post.

Step one is to select your social accounts. These are the same social accounts available in the Meltwater account via the web. Functionality and restrictions (ex. only one Twitter account at a time) apply.

After clicking apply, users can begin with a general compose message. This message will apply to all selected channels. From here, users can enter message copy, as well as attach images, gifs, videos, or links to the post.

Once everything looks correct, click Apply via the top right-hand corner to move to the next step.

The next screen features both conditional and optional features.

  • You can customize each post per individual channel from this screen if necessary. Customized posts will feature a customized label, just like on Meltwater web.

  • If there are any errors present, Meltwater will alert the user. These must be solved before continuing.

On the final screen, users can select when to post their message, as well as assign for review, tag, and leave notes.

  • Post now

    • If a post is ‘assigned’ status, you will not be able to select ‘post now’.

  • Schedule date and time

  • Save as draft

Once a selection has been made, click Post/Schedule/Save in the top right-hand corner, and you will be taken back to the calendar.

  • If you have chosen to Post now, you will need to ‘pull down’ on the calendar to refresh and see the post in published status.

Posts published, scheduled, or saved as drafts will appear both via the mobile calendar, as well as the calendar on Meltwater web.

Approvals in Publish

With the Engage Mobile App, you can approve posts assigned to you while on the go. Under the My Tasks tab, you can quickly see the posts awaiting your approval in one stream.

To approve posts:

  • Go to My Tasks

  • Select a post to review the content per channel, any assets such as images or videos, and assignment notes.

  • Choose to approve or reject the post.

  • If rejecting, include a note with an explanation or changes you would like to be made. The user who assigned the post to you will receive an email letting them know their post has been rejected.

In the My Tasks stream posts will appear in chronological order by the post date. Draft posts and posts that have gone past their post date will appear at the bottom in creation date order. Posts that have gone past their post date have a banner calling this out.

Publishing Instagram Stories and Carousels

To publish Instagram stories and carousels, you will use the mobile app notification workflow. Creation and scheduling are done via Publish in Meltwater, then you will receive a push notification to your Meltwater Engage mobile app for you to publish via the Instagram app. To view the full process from start to finish, read this help center article.

When it's time to publish your story or carousel, either at the scheduled time or right away, you will receive a push notification for your post via the Meltwater Engage mobile app on your mobile device. You can also access the story from the 'My Tasks' tab within the mobile app.

You can review the details of your story or carousel within the mobile app and then choose Post to Instagram. This will redirect you to the Instagram mobile app, where you will complete the process and publish the story or carousel live.

  1. You will receive a push notification 10 minutes prior to your selected scheduled time.

  2. You can open your Engage mobile app, or open it directly from the notifications tray

  3. You will be directed to My Tasks where all of your Stories and Carousels will appear.

Protip: My Tasks will display all scheduled Stories for that day, so you can access any story for the day, regardless of when it is scheduled to publish. This also means you do not have to wait for the notification, if you want to publish earlier (or later) than originally planned.

  4. Click your post to preview the scheduled message.

  5. Click Show details to view the text include with the post. This text is automatically copied to your clipboard.

  6. Click Continue to Instagram

  7. You will receive a pop-up reminder alerting you to be sure you are logged in to the correct Instagram account on your phone before continuing. Click Got It to continue. You also have the option to not show this reminder again.

  8. Instagram will automatically open in the post editor. You are free to make any edits as you see fit within Instagram. The text from your post is automatically copied to your clipboard, so you can paste it directly into Instagram.

  9. Follow your typical workflow for sharing or posting to your Instagram handle.
