  4. Select Post

  5. In the Select social accounts section, add the Instagram account(s) you would like to post on

      • Up to 20 unique people tags can be added to a single post

    2. Tag List (bottom)

      • Click X to remove a tag

FAQs

Q: What Instagram handles can be tagged as "People"?

When searching for People tags, the Instagram API only returns exact matches to search terms. I.E. to tag Nike, you must type the entirety of the handle (Nike) in order to find and select the correct handle.

Q: Do different account types have different rules for tagging people?

Yes, there will be a difference between Creator and Business accounts, Public accounts, and Private accounts

  • Creator and Business accounts will return in the people tag dropdown field with avatar

    • Creator and business accounts may have settings that do not allow for people tagging, which will cause any post attempting to tag that account to fail.

  • Public personal accounts will not appear as options in the people tag dropdown field. However, these accounts can still be tagged.

    • Accounts that do not return an exact match, include a View account option, to view the handle on native Instagram.

    • Personal accounts may have settings that do not allow for people tagging, which will cause any post attempting to tag that account to fail.

  • Private personal Instagram accounts cannot be tagged, even if the handles follow one another.
